The Custom Fit

Myself and Mr Cunningham are going to get custom fitted at the Callaway fitting centre on Saturday morning for a set of Callaway X22 irons. Resident Champ - Mr Arthur - is quaking in his boots for the new season, a few big signings in the club department and Mr Arthur's chairman hasn't dug into the kitty to improve his bag for the new season may just see a new Hamilton Champ unveiled in the new "Cinderella Story" Championship 09!

On a sorry note - Golf Team meeting cancelled tomorrow on account of the crazy weather warning!

heres hoping I can snowboard to work tomorrow!

I need 460 CC of Callaway Big Dawg! STAT!

My new driver finally arrived today - I "won" a bid on eBay (i.e. i was the sap that was willing to pay the most) and bought a Big Bertha 460 CC (inspired by one hit of Mr Cunninghams)

breaking it out tomorrow (weather permitting) at our favourite course Polkemmet!

Also won a new putter - Odyssey White Hot XG #1 as the putter I had was in fashion along with Flock of Seagulls.

if there are any school's with Golf teams out there we are looking for some teams to play next year (when the weather changes ... if ever)

Is there a new Tiger Woods at Hamilton Grammar?

This week saw the start of a new Club at Hamilton Grammar School. Myself and fellow teachers Mr Arthur (The Golden Teddy Bear) and Mr McGowan (Eagle Eye Putt Putt) taking 10 pupils to the local driving range.

hopefully after the New Year we will have a regular slot every two weeks alternating between two groups. We are looking to organise coaching for the pupils, but as yet we consider the cost a bit too pricey.

we have also investigated the possibility of taking them on a foreign trip to play golf as it was intended - in the sunshine! we have also been in contact with some other local coaching schools about some 1 and 2 day courses.

hopefully this year we will have a better team to complete at the South Lanarkshire School's Golf Festival with a new breed of youngsters.

Is there a new Tiger amongst our new Hamilton Grammar Golf Team? Perhaps not - only because none of the kids have a Hollywood name, which we are hopefully going to remedy in the next few weeks.

all the pupils were exceptionally well behaved and seemed to enjoy the day - they can all talk a good game, equally as well as McGowan who was road testing his new clubs, he filmed the staff swings which he has uploaded to TeacherTube, they don't make for great viewing. Only as I managed to duff mine (the only bad shot out of 50 ...............)
